We offer personalized service in a series of
one-on-one and family sessions: The Assessment. Through a series of conferences with you and your parents, we get at the heart of your strengths, interests and goals to identify your educational objectives. We help you define the learning environment, culture, and other attributes of your desired college experience. The College List. We prepare a list of colleges uniquely suited to you which includes affordable options. You’ll then start narrowing your list based on focused research and interactive discussion facilitated by Academic Options. Financial Aid Advice. We provide an overview of financial aid including a realistic cost preview based on your Expected Family Contribution, using both the Federal Methodology and the Institutional Methodology. We consider which colleges meet the greatest percentage of aid and where you will have the best merit scholarship potential. College Visits and Interviews. You will learn how to effectively answer and ask insightful questions. You’ll make a positive impression and build an important life skill. Essays. Through writing workshops and feedback on multiple revisions, we help you develop topics that make powerful personal statements. You will write strong, memorable essays, and learn how to articulate who you are in new ways. Recommendations. We help you understand what makes a good recommendation and help you identify the teachers to write them. Timeline Management. We provide structure and organization allowing students to complete their applications without undue stress and anxiety. Your Final Decision. Once the acceptance letters are in, we help you evaluate your options, including financial aid offers. We also meet with students prior to college orientation to discuss the transition to college.
